For Young Artists
The Art Workshop offers term time courses for young people from the age of 7-12 years. Children work in small groups of around 10 following a programme of work specially devised by the Workshop's team of qualified tutors. Each session lasts for an hour between 4 and 5pm, either on a Monday or Thursday, or on a Saturday at 9.15-10.15am.

From an approach based on developing drawing and observational skills the children are helped to try a range of different techniques and materials and to learn about the work of artists either from the History of Art or those in contemporary practice. Children are encouraged to develop creative thinking. to use their imagination, to grow their confidence, persistence, and their ability to solve problems. They are helped to analyse their work and discuss it with their peers in a supportive atmosphere that enables them to achieve to the best of their ability.
Art for the Holidays
During Half terms and holidays the Art Workshop runs Creative Kids sessions for children between the ages of 7 and 13. These are open to all daily and are fun but well structured workshops where children learn through drawing games and creativity exercises as well as completing a finished piece in a range of media.  Younger children aged 5 and 6 can join the Workshop for an hour of Art suited to their age group with content developed specifically for each session. They can experiment with appropriate materials and produce a portfolio of work to take home with the help of our team of tutors.
