Our painting workshops are designed to stimulate creativity, encourage experimentation and expand your knowledge of medium and technique.

The Art Workshop environment is designed to make learning more accessible, catering for beginner to intermediate levels. Each course is grounded in the basics building steadily at a pace to suit all students. With small class sizes you will benefit from personal tuition and guidance. Current courses include Oil Painting, Watercolours and Mixed Media.

Once you are booked on your course you will receive a course materials list detailing what you will need to bring along. Various materials are also available to purchase at The Art Workshop.

with Kate Lowry Weds 10am-12pm for beginners to intermediate

Popular medium, learn to create vibrant paintings. Materials are not included, we can advise on what you will need and keep stocks in the Workshop for students at reasonable prices.

Experimental Acrylics

With Petra Couper A creative exploration of this versatile paint medium incorporating contemporary techniques. Suitable for beginners and the more experienced.  10am-12.30pm every Monday during term time.

Monday May 6th  - Monday July 15th 11weeks, no class Monday 27th May as half term  £165 without materials or £220 with materials at £5 per week equivalent.

Monday September 9th - Monday October 21 7 weeks £105 without materials or £140

 Half day workshops:

Ways into Abstraction Saturday August 10th 1.30-4.30pm with Petra Couper £45. Taking inspiration from the Abstract Expressionists and the work of Barnett Newman, this is an opportunity to create bold and striking abstracts. Discover how to make Newman’s ‘zips’ and play with colour.
