For Young Artists

Children work in small groups of around 10 following a programme of work specially devised by the Workshop's team of qualified tutors. Each session lasts for an hour between 4 and 5pm, either on a Monday or Thursday, or on a Saturday at 9.15-10.15am.
From an approach based on developing drawing and observational skills the children are helped to try a range of different techniques and materials and to learn about the work of artists either from the History of Art or those in contemporary practice. Children are encouraged to develop creative thinking. to use their imagination, to grow their confidence, persistence, and their ability to solve problems. They are helped to analyse their work and discuss it with their peers in a supportive atmosphere that enables them to achieve to the best of their ability.
