Keeping everyone safe during Covid

We have implemented some simple measures designed to keep everyone safe and able to enjoy art lessons in studio.

On arrival

Please only use the SIDE DOOR to enter.

To reduce the number of people in a small space we would ask you to wait outside until we can admit you and maintain a 2m distance from other people waiting.

Studio arrangements

We ask you to:

  • bring a face mask and your own hand sanitiser to classes.
  • use the hand sanitiser provided on entering the studio. Anyone who cannot use hand sanitiser will asked to wash their hands with soap instead.
  • maintain social distancing and wait for the tutors show you to your allocated place for the class.
  • put your coats on the back of chairs, any belongings under the table.
  • minimise the amount of movement around the studio, remain in your space during class as much as possible.
  • There may be times during class where we all need to wear face masks, for example if you are having a slideshow and the number of people in the studio increases above the 2m distancing restriction.
  • use your own individual equipment only and do not share with other members of the class. Take all your equipment home. Leave any studio equipment on your table at the end of class for sanitising.
  • sanitise hands before entering the bathroom and wash hands thoroughly with soap afterwards.
  • Wash hands with soap before and after eating or drinking
  • catch sneezes and coughs in the crook of your arm or tissue. Bin the tissue in the covered bins provided and wash hands immediately.

Please note-

We will not be able to provide refreshments so please bring your own and take everything home with you. We will not be able to bin food items or packaging.

We will no longer be able to provide kitchen roll or aprons so please bring your own.

We must reduce the risk of cross infection so please try to make sure that you have restocked your materials before class.

Infection control

  • Please ensure we have your correct contact details for track and trace purposes.
  • We will not be accepting cash in the studio. Please make all payments via Bacs to The Art Workshop Cooperative Business Account no 68616119 sort code 08 92 50. We will accept cheques made payable to The Art Workshop.

Please do not come to class if you :

  • feel unwell or have any of the three identified COVID-19 symptoms (a new continuous cough, a high temperature or loss of taste/smell)
  • Or you have tested positive for COVID -19 in the past 14 days.
  • Or you live in a household with someone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive in the past 14 days.
  • If you need to speak to us regarding your attendance for the lesson, please leave a message on our WhatsApp accounts, phone or text 07947 003111, or email [email protected].

Changes we have made in the studio to keep us all safe.

Hand sanitisers are available at both entrances to the studio and at other points on both floors.

Liquid soap and paper towels are provided in both toilets.

Everyone will be encouraged to use sanitiser when they leave their workstations for any reason and to wash hands with soap frequently.

Tables have been distanced to allow for social distancing.

Covered bins are available for tissues.

Stand-alone floor or table screens are to be used where social distancing is more difficult.

Tutors will wear masks or visors when they are closer than 2m and learners will be asked to wear masks at those times also.

Movement around the building will be controlled and kept to a minimum. Please wear masks or visors if moving around.

All areas will be thoroughly cleaned before and after classes, including toilets and hand washing areas.

All equipment will be cleaned after classes.

Frequently touched surfaces will be wiped down at regular intervals throughout the day.

Tutors will practise high standards of cleanliness and follow Covid 19 precautions.
