Our painting workshops are designed to stimulate creativity, encourage experimentation and expand your knowledge of medium and technique.

The Art Workshop environment is designed to make learning more accessible, catering for beginner to intermediate levels. Each course is grounded in the basics building steadily at a pace to suit all students. With small class sizes you will benefit from personal tuition and guidance. Current courses include Oil Painting, Watercolours and Mixed Media.

Once you are booked on your course you will receive a course materials list detailing what you will need to bring along. Various materials are also available to purchase at The Art Workshop.

Popular medium, learn to create vibrant paintings. Materials are not included, we can advise on what you will need and keep stocks in the Workshop for students at reasonable prices.

Printmaking: Collagraph, Linocuts and Monoprint

with  Artist tutor Jackie Shackson. Create beautiful images using artists quality materials, and come away with a series of handmade prints of your own design. £45 including materials and use of the press.  Selected Saturdays,  see dates below. Three hour workshops from 1.15pm-4.15pm. Suitable for beginners and Improvers. 

Collagraph printmaking is a versatile, sensitive pint form where you can transform your designs into beautiful handmade prints, built from an etched plate with collage additions to create incredible texture and tone.

Linocuts is the modern form of woodblock engraving, but forget that tough old lino from your schooldays! Try carving into artist's quality lino which is smooth and easy, and create powerful; images with high contrast.

New: Monoprinting. the most painterly method among printmaking techniques, essentially a printed painting, and no two prints are alike. A sponaneous form of pintmaking combining drawing and painting media.
